A recap of all news items I found most worthy of sharing this past week. Some of it I did share via my blog, while most I didn’t. If anything this is a brief catchup on the week, with links to boot!

  • Doctor Who – Series 8 is well under way, filming on block two has started. Currently filming episode 5 of the series, written by Steve Thompson (The Curse of the Black Spot, Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS), and directed by Douglas Mackinnon (Cold War)

  • Superhero – Captain America: The Winter Soldier holds press screenings. A number of tweets emerged shortly afterward praising the film, some claiming it to be the best Marvel film to date.
  • Science Fiction – A new four part documentary series from BBC America will delve into The Real History of Science Fiction with filmmakers, writers, actors and graphic artists. The four part series debuts on Saturday April 19 at 10pm. The four episodes will be on Robots, Space, Invasion, and Time.
  • Superhero – Get a first look at Grant Gustin’s FULL costume as the Flash.
  • Superhero – The Logo and Synopsis for Fox’s GOTHAM TV show have been released.
  • Superhero – The Winter Soldier directors confirm they’ll return to helm Captain America 3.

  • Doctor Who – Classic Doctor Who will begin airing on the British Horror channel. The BBC is known for never re-airing Classic Who, so this is a big deal for British fans.
  • Superhero – Anthony Mackie, who will play The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will most likely NOT appear in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
  • Anime – Sailor Moon Crystal, a 20th anniversary adaption of the classic anime/manga, is set to air this summer. We have our first official tease.
  • Superhero – Marvel confirms that the film Batman/Superman will go up against in 2016 is Captain America 3.
  • Doctor Who – Keeley Hawes will be starring in series 8, episode 5, and will play the mysterious Ms. Delphox, a banker.

  • Superhero – Fox is reportedly getting rid of their Fantastic Four director, writer, and cast and starting from scratch.
  • Superhero – Marvel head producer, Kevin Feige, claims Captain Marvel film has been discussed “a lot.”

On a more personal note, I reached 200 followers! Thanks guys! Also, I’m currently introducing my girlfriend to Star Wars and she loves it! So strange that some have yet to watch probably the most classic SciFi series of all time! Recently finished the original trilogy and are now watching the prequels.
