How Long Would it Take to Binge-Watch Your Favorite Animated Series?

There is a distinct difference between binge-watching something and marathoning it. Binge-watching infers you watch without pause, where as marathoning is finishing something as fast as you can. Binge-watching has more to do with television and less to do with movies. One does not simply “binge-watch” Lord of the Rings… they “marathon” it. But the term is more acceptable in regards to watching a bunch of episodes. That being said, I’m not sure if my quest to finish Avatar: The Last Airbender is a marathon, or several binge-watching sessions in tandem. The terms aren’t rigid, but fickle, and I find myself at a loss for what to call it. That being said, a total binge-watching session of the entire Avatar series IS feasibly doable according to this handy infograph posted by the Nielson TOPTEN company. But when it comes to some of the longer running series out there binge-watching in one sit down seems to be sheer madness.

So, what shows have you seen/binge-watched/marathoned recently? I’m almost done with Avatar: The Last Airbender and hope to start either The Legend of Korra or Adventure Time soon. Will keep you posted.

  1. I’ve been tackling the Simpsons. It’s def been more than 8 days, but I feel like I’m making good progress seeing as I do have a lot of other things going on. I started end of May and I’m almost done season 10.

  2. My wife recently binged on the first two seasons of Orange in the New Black. I recently did a catch-up binge watch on Fargo so I could watch the series finale the same week it aired.
