Which DC Comics Movie Are You Looking Forward to Most? (POLL)

Yesterday at a Time Warner investors meeting, CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the current lineup of all their DC Cinematic Universe films to 2020. This certainly took some spotlight off of RDJ and Cap 3

Below is the list of films. Which are you most looking forward to? Take your vote!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25, 2016) Directed by Zack Snyder, and will feature Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016) Directed by David Ayer. Purportedly 4 A-listers are in talks to play as-of-yet unknown characters.

Wonder Woman (June 23, 2017) Starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, she will head the solo-hero films, and will be the first female-led superhero film (unless you count Elektra… or Supergirl).

Justice League Part One (November 23, 2017) Directed by Zack Snyder – The film will likely involve all heroes introduced up to this point. Rumored villain is Brainiac.

The Flash (March 23, 2018) It was announced yesterday that Ezra Miller will be the movie universe Flash, firmly confirming that neither the Flash or Arrow television series’ are canon in the film universe.

Aquaman (July 27, 2018) Starring Jason Mamoa – we all knew he was Aquaman, but yesterday that was officially confirmed.

Shazam (April 5, 2019) It was confirmed Dwayne Johnson would be playing Black Adam (the assumed villain) for this film a few months back.

Justice League Part Two (June 14, 2019) Directed by Zack Snyder. Will likely introduce Flash and Shazam into the team roster. Rumored villain is Darkseid.

Cyborg (April 3, 2020) Starring Ray Fisher. I assume he’ll have a strong presence in a few movies, but this’ll be his solo outing.

Green Lantern (June 19, 2020) Will not feature Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern – will be altogether rebooted.

Solo Superman and Batman films are also said to be in the works, and could likely land before 2020 – will likely depend on how well Batman v Superman does.

  1. Picked Batman v. Superman just because it’s the only one I can really count on happening. Plans are all well and good, but DC’s kind of flailing around with reboots right now and who knows what’ll happen.

  2. Justice League 1 just so I can see if DC can stand up to marvels Avengers. My enthusiasm for these films is muted due to them not being connected to the television universe with Amell and Gustavson playing their respective rolls something marvel did right that DC is passing on.

    1. Well, if DC and WB play their cards right, they could potentially have two successful universes. But I agree. Overall, Marvel started earlier, and Marvel did it better. We’ll see how the films hold up. I can expect a level of expertise out of Marvel at this point – I know I’m going to be entertained and it’s not just guys beating each other up. But then again, I really didn’t care for Man of Steel. So yeah. Hopefully WB knows what they’re doing.

  3. Aquaman. Honestly, it’s a bit of a pity vote because I know he’s not getting all that many votes but also because I’ve always liked the dude. I feel like his story would make for a great solo film. At least as long as they don’t try to set too much of it on land, I expect some magnificent undersea battles filled with sharks and whales and various unmentionables emerging from the sea floor to help him between him struggling to find his place in the world, juggling his duties to his empire and potential Justice League duties.

If nothing else, only the Green Lantern, in my opinion, has the chance to rival it in pure awesome scenery.

    1. I picture it being quite like Thor (which in all honesty is one of my favorite superhero movies). It’s totally all about mythology, Asgard is super otherworldly and I just picture a lot of awesome switching that up with Atlantis. Putting it that way I must agree.

  4. Once I see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and all these actors in their superhero roles I’d have a better idea of what I’d be looking forward to. At this time, I’m not super excited to be honest. I do like that Ayers is directing Suicide Squad, I’d be interested on his take on this team.

  5. Personally, don’t have very high hopes for any of these. Warner Bros/DC have let me down too much recently. That said, i think comic fans have waited too long for a Wonder Woman movie for me to chose anything else.

    1. Ah yes. I agree. Although I loved the Dark Knight trilogy, I hated Man of Steel (which is a shame as supes is kind of my favorite superhero). But Wonder Woman does seem like the bold new move. You’re right.

  6. taking batman v superman out of the equation, suicide squad has most of my attention, purely because it’s the most different (and also because i love deadshot), but it will be refreshing to have this type of movie in a sea full of superhero stuff

    1. Same here, i am guessing that Sucide Squad will be Exepdnables meets Avengers with some of the comicbook Suicide Squad plugged in for flavor… 🙂

      1. I hope it’s like that. Given that the Sucide Squad can lose characters el permanente ie dead, it lends itself to a high octane / high body count film. Would love it to be like that too 🙂

  7. These all depend on the success of Batman V Superman. I’m hoping it is great. It looks awesome so far, but if it is a dud, DC is in deep doo doo. Marvel has set an extremely high bar of excellence. My hope is that DC meets it head on.

    1. Well. Let’s just put it this way. Batman sells movie tickets. Superman does too. Together they should statistically reach close to what The Avengers made. It doesn’t even need to be a good film for it to be a success. Of course, word of mouth does help. If Guardians hadn’t gotten such excellent reviews across the board, it would’ve burnt out really quick. So hopefully it is a good movie. That way everyone wins.

      1. I agree. I’m sure it’ll make money. I was talking in personal terms. If I really like it, it’ll wet my whistle for more, and if not, I’ll be deeply disappointed. But I’m expecting it to be very good. Zak Snyder would actually have to try really hard to screw this up. He could, but I’m betting he doesn’t. And Jason Mamoa as Aquaman is terrific. So I want to actually see all of these get made and be as good as I know they can be.
