Airing a bit earlier than was originally expected, Universal has unleashed their first trailer to Jurassic World unto us – the long awaited fourth installment in the Jurassic Park series. And the park is finally open. I’m betting they didn’t want to be outshone by this weekend’s Star Wars trailer, so they pushed it forward a few days.
My favorite thing about this is actually that haunting minimalist piano rendition of John Williams’ Jurassic Park theme near the end.
The acting in this looks painfully bad…the first three films were staffed with a pretty reasonable bunch of good character actors. I’m sensing Jaws 3-D vibes out of this, honestly. Not that this would stop me from going, of course.

It’s been 21 years since the first movie in the franchise… and it still looks better/more convincing that this. I just don’t understand what magic they pulled back in the day but they better find the same spell book soon.
I’m sure it’s going to be fun but the Umbrella/Weyland-Yutani behavior of the company annoys me a great deal and the whole Raptor pack/trainer can backfire immensely. On the other hand, OH MY GOD, MORE CHRIS PRATT!

Don’t mean to sound like a snob (I certainly can’t do better) but the CGI dinosaurs didn’t wow me with realism. Somehow I just thought this would be a showpiece for next-gen special effects.

I don’t know if I’m excited or scared about this.

I’ll need to see more before I can truly judge, but this first look didn’t exactly “wow” me.
