Marvel Ramps Up Hype for Age of Ultron with New Poster Reveal (UPDATE)

Feast your eyes on the latest poster(s) for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, as they begin their ramp up publicity for the May 1st weekend.

Something worth noting, for those of you eagle-eyed fans, is the fine print, listing the cast. Both Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Hayley Atwell (Agent Peggy Carter) are now officially listed amongst the other Avengers cast. I think now’s a great time for a Marvel marathon, in preparation for the big day.

(UPDATE)

Someone has brought to my attention that famed composer Danny Elfman (best known for his work with director Tim Burton), who has recently worked on Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man 2, is credited as composing Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Also, Robert Downey Jr. has tweeted out the first official character poster, in what is presumed to be a series of posters, all featuring different characters.

As you can see, he teases a big announcement in 8 days. A new trailer? More posters? Or is it something more? Stay tuned.

  1. With this, I can’t tell what it’s trying to be. I liked the Marvel’s the Avengers poster so much because it was all one scene that was interesting to look at. That’s why my favourite Marvel Cinematic Universe posters are also for Iron Man 3, Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. So I’m still not sure about whether this is supposed to look like one thing happening, or if it’s deliberately overcrowded. I guess it’s ’cause I have my own idea of what the poster would look like from what I’ve seen of it, but since is official, I’m guessing this will be what the majority of Avengers: Age of Ultron is. Funny how Ultron isn’t actually there. A while ago, I saw a fan-made poster of him on a throne holding the Iron Man helmet (http://imageserver.moviepilot.com/the-best-avengers-age-of-ultron-fan-made-posters-422aceb3-644b-4508-a9d3-5420745f6308.webp?width=640&height=972). That was really minimalist, and to be honest, I prefer that one. So to me, this is more of a fanart poster than an official poster, but that’s not to say it doesn’t please aesthetically. The only thing to actively dislike about it is Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. They just look so obviously out-of-place. The best thing is Vision. I love how we’re only seeing glimpses of him. Still, at least it’s better than the silver A teaser poster. That was just weird.

  2. Some people have noted that the actors for Falcon and Peggy Carter are both listed in the credits. They’ve also added Danny Elfman’s name to it, and he did the music for the first two Spider-Man movies apparently. Suspicious….
