  1. I’m looking forward to hearing more at E3, like a lot of people I was underwhelmed by the technicality of it personally. A while back they said they were going to be using the Skyrim engine for their next two games and it really looks like they were talking about this. Now, devs can make 5 year old engines still look great, there are still tells though. For instance that dog and his painted on fur texture. The really wooden character animations that appear to be a engine limitation.

This stuff isn’t much of a problem for an action rpg, but when faced with the Witcher 3 which is more technically impressive on every level.. For me the character animations are a big part that the Witcher just nails. Conversations carry visible and natural emotions, you should really check out the cut scenes, it’s really something else.

That being said, this is a trailer featuring gameplay footage from an unfinished game so it’s impossible to judge until it comes out. Kudos to them for not doing a CGI one like everyone else.

Gotta agree with you on the landscape design, Boston looks really awesome. They definitely improved the lighting too, that night scene looks great.

    1. I’ve seen some of the Witcher 3’s gameplay. Looks great. I agree though. It does look noticeably better than Fallout 3, but it seems like really good PS3 technology – not quite next gen.
