This Star Wars: The Force Awakens Behind-the-Scenes Video Is Mesmerizing

I’m a little surprised. For a Friday at SDCC, today was pretty uneventful. A few big panels, a few new trailers dropped for The Walking Dead fans, but very little from the movie front. Some new toys were announced at the Hasbro Star Wars Panel, and you can read the liveblog here. No new books were announced, aside from the fact that Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath novel (the first in-canon novel to take place after Return of the Jedi) will be the start of its own trilogy. We will be seeing a new comic book series based on Chewbacca, which is exciting. You can read the full liveblog of the Star Wars Publishing Panel here

As far as the actual Star Wars: The Force Awakens Panel goes, you can read that liveblog here. Although entertaining and exciting, there was no new trailer or footage, sadly. Neither was there any confirmation of the rumor that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was picked up to direct Episode IX, nor that this picture has any validity. We do get this incredible behind-the-scenes video though, and it’s beautiful. It makes up for the disappointing day in a strong way. I can’t believe it, but a new Star Wars film is almost here! What a time. Watch it below.

  1. This is “Star Wars” done RIGHT. Far, far better to how Lucas did the prequels, what with the bragging about “photo-realistic digital actors” and only filming one scene outdoors. Let’s just hope that the script and acting here are better than in Episodes I – III … but, honestly, that shouldn’t be hard.
