Yesterday, director Duncan Jones introduced BlizzCon attendees and fans around the world to the first theatrical trailer for the highly anticipated Warcraft film. I knew it was going to land on Friday, and I totally forgot about it until just now. So if I missed it, there’s a chance the rest of you may have as well. Check it out!
What do you think? Comment below with your thoughts.
I have this friend whose main fandom is Warcraft (they’re like me with Doctor Who or you with The Lord of the Rings), and I showed them this trailer. Their opinion of it was based entirely entirely around its accuracy to the source material, which it apparently isn’t. Then they said the Legion trailer that premièred with is a much better story.
Please point out if I ever start to do this with something.

Well. The Legion trailer was very good. Might post that up here also, just for kicks and giggles. But I believe it’s too soon to immediately discredit accuracy to source material. As of now, the trailer isn’t trying to prove itself as an accurate representation of Warcraft lore (this going back long before World of Warcraft). But that said, that was one of the major reasons Blizzard made the deal with this particular studio to create the film – their focus on being true to the story of Warcraft. Apparently there was a time when many studios were being turned away, because they were pitching movies that were clearly just Warcraft offshoots. I can’t see the film being way off mark.
