I want to know your burning questions going into The Force Awakens! What must the movie answer for you? Is there anything you want to know more about? Etc. Please, let me know in the comments below, and I’ll update this post with your questions (and link your blogs for good measure). Try to limit it to two good ones, and keep them to the point! Make sure nobody’s asked the same question (and if they’ve asked a similar one, just make yours more pointed).
After the opening weekend I’ll go through and answer each in a follow-up post, and hopefully it’ll be an enlightening experience for everyone! If any of your questions already have known answers (and don’t spoil major plot points) I or one of the other users on here will kindly let you know. Mark this page for future reference! Let’s begin:
Kylo Ren Questions:
- Does Kylo Ren know Darth Vader turned against the dark side in his final moments? (morabitom)
- Will any of the Knights of Ren, aside from Kylo Ren, wield lightsabers? (Geekritique)
Force Questions:
- Is the balance of the Force leaning more towards the light or dark side, and how does this affect the plot? (Jenneral Geek)
- Why did Obi-Wan disappear, and why can’t Force Ghosts show up all the time? (morabitom)
Will (_____) Be in The Force Awakens?:
- Will Billie Dee Williams/Lando Calrissian make an appearance? (SVJERNON)
- What’s Jar Jar up to nowadays? (Jenneral Geek)
Other Questions:
- To what extent will the extended canon of books/comics/shows influence or enhance the film? (Geekritique)

Oh and most importantly, what’s Jar Jar up to nowadays?

When did the stormtroopers stop being comprised entirely of clones?

Hmm. I believe that happened sometime after Order 66 in Episode III. There was a slow transition from clones to recruits. Taken from the canon Wookieepedia page: “As the clones’ accelerated aging process began causing their physical skills and abilities to deteriorate, they were replaced by non-clone volunteers and conscripts.”

We never actually see them getting rid of the clones though, so that’s caused some confusion

Yeah. In the original trilogy they obviously weren’t clones… but in the prequel they begin that way. It’s not a continuity problem for me like it is for some, I just couldn’t remember them explicitly covering it in the actual movies where/when it happened that they replenished the ranks with non-clone soldiers.

I think it was pretty instantaneous. In the book Lords of the Sith, many imperial troopers weren’t clones, although some were. This was only a few years after Episode III

I’m lazy 🙂 So I haven’t read any of the books, and only a handful of comics over the years (I know some bits from some books were adapted in comic form too)… If I’m honest, I don’t know if I truly have any “must answer” questions beyond what I have to assume they will cover… like what Han, Leia, Chewie, and Luke have been up to over the years. I haven’t heard, though, or maybe I missed it, whether or not Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian will feature anywhere?

It hasn’t been confirmed/denied that I know of.

1. Does Kylo Ren know Darth Vader turned against the dark side in his final moments?
2. Not really an exact question but some clarification on The Force would be nice, like, what’s the deal with Obi-Wan disappearing, why can’t Force Ghosts show up all the time and help people out and what even is the “Balance of The Force” anyway?

Good questions. The first should definitely be answered I think.

I edited your last question down a bit. Hope you don’t mind.
