Read a Selection of My New Short Stories

Hello again. I recently removed a series of short stories from my site Tales from Atelinor, as I realized I had bigger plans for those pieces. Since then, I’ve been doing a lot of writing. Much of which I haven’t been posting online, for the same reason I removed several of my short stories. But I have recently written a number of short pieces, between 500 and 1500 words in length, and wanted to share it with those interested here. They’re all free. They’re all fantasy. And though they’re all vastly different tales and settings, they all take place on a world I’m building known as Atelinor. Links and descriptions to some of my more recent works can be found below.

Assent of the Whale
A fisherman and a boy set out to sea to catch fish for their village, but it’s a choppy day. Learn more about the tribal people of Shattrakan, their customs and practices. And see how anomalurgy can be useful in day to day life.

And So the Great Rot Spead
Farmer Giles just doesn’t understand what’s wrong with the earth. He has crops growing just fine, but a great rot is spreading from the west, devouring everything, and turning it into a black sand.

Memories and Maladies
A husband and wife of ten years celebrate their anniversary, but they do so in an odd mix of gift giving and storytelling fashion.

Bayo, Sixth of the Pack
Bayo is a wolf, sixth in the hierarchy of his pack. One night, while hunting on the plains, Bayo finds something bizarre, and strange things begin to occur.

The Travels of Con Marquarata, Vol. III, Entry 29
Con Marquarata, celebrated adventurer, is at it again. In this entry he and his companion Blarney set off down a river in the middle of the Shattrakani forest.

I’d love to hear your feedback, positive or negative. If you’d like to see how these tales fit chronologically with one another, visit this page.
