Doctor Strange has officially wrapped filming, according to director Scott Derrickson, doing so with a bang on the streets of NYC. These past few days have seen a blur of pictures come from the set, giving us our best looks yet of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Chiwetal Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, and Mads Mikkelsen’s mysterious character. Check out some of the images below.

  1. Love the photos. If they’re truly going for classic Dr. Strange, my guess for Mikkelsen’s identity would be a very reimagined Dormammu, maybe before he acquires his head-flames. Wishful thinking on my part, but we’ll see.

  2. Jackman was a good Wolverine… Downey is an even better Iron Man… by all accounts, Cumberbatch really looks like a good Doctor Strange. That cannot be undersold just how important nailing the casting like that is for a thing.

  3. Much the same way Hugh Jackman seems born to have played Wolverine (he had every aspect of the look with the exception of the height difference), Cumberpatch seems born made to play the Sorcerer Supreme. The resemblance is uncanny (pun slightly intended). Looking forward to this one.

      1. Yes. They are getting good at their casting picks. The guy playing Daredevil is great, but I will never, ever be able to hear the name ‘The Punisher’ and not see Dolph Lundgren. I can wipe what’s her name as Elektra if the one in the series looks, and acts, better.

      2. I am on the second or third episode, I think. Very excited, though. The first season was beyond awesome. Between DD and Jessica Jones I am starting to like the Netflix collection of Marvel series more than the Marvel cinematic releases. So much more detail and character study. Very impressed!

      3. You should be very pleased by the Netflix representation of the Elekta character. I don’t care for the character much, but the actress behind the mask is excellent.
