Daily Fantasy Writing Prompt – Feb. 25, 2016

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Writing Prompt, where I post – yep, you guessed it – a fantasy prompt each and every day. I enjoy all genre fiction, but fantasy just comes easiest to me. As a writer of fantasy myself, I find writing prompts hard to find, so hopefully this will be a fun exercise for all you writers out there. All posts go live at 8am EST, for those who start writing early. If you’d like, link what you’ve written in the comments below, so that I and others can see what you’ve come up with.

Today’s the big day. You leave home, on your own. You seek vengeance. From what? For whom? Write a tale about leaving home, or leaving someone behind, to face a terrible threat, and the struggles you’ll face in doing so.

    1. Excellent job man. Totally not what au expected from my prompt. You’ve successfully created an entire culture, world, and magic-system in less than a 1000 words. I’d say it needs some polishing, but well done! I’ll be linking to it.

  1. Yes! Oh, I’m so glad you’ve decided to do this. There used to be another blogger I follow who’d post daily writing prompts, but they eventually stopped posting them because generating them all took too much time from their writing schedule. But I love that you’ve done this, because writing is something that should be shared with others. So I’ll be posting in comments, but also linking back to spread the word. Especially because fantasy is a genre that’s always intrigued me, but I’ve never been quite able to grasp. So going outside of what I know is a challenge I’ll enjoy taking.
