As its been said in a recent post here on Geekritique, WB is going to be spending a lot more time and energy making their tentpole franchises the major focus for their movie slate in the coming years. We’ve already gotten a taste of that with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice arriving earlier this year, and just earlier we were gifted with a new trailer for Suicide Squad. Beyond the DCEU franchise however, WB is banking heavily on the hope that the Harry Potter franchise will continue to churn out content. The first offshoot film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them, gets its first full-length trailer, exclusive to the MTV Movie Awards. Does it recapture the magic? Boy does it. Check it out.

I think the trailer captured the magic of the HP series while breaking new ground. Even as a casual Harry Potter fan, this movie is definitely on my radar.

It does feel fresh, but also familiar. Hard to capture in a trailer, but they did it.

Whoa–Now I’m excited for the film. There’s a plot happening here, and Yes, I think it looks absolutely authentic to the original series magic.

They did an excellent job with making the CGI look and feel like it did in the first 8 films, I’ll give them that.

That looked a lot better than the previous trailers. I now officially want to see this. The Suicide Squad trailer that was posted earlier looks great too. Good stuff! 😀
