Last week while my friend was on his honeymoon he asked me to recommend him a good book to read. So I naturally told him that The Way of Kings was the way to go. And now I feel bad for making him spend money on a digital version. If only he’d have asked me a week later.
Along with iOS 8’s massive update, iTunes (via the iBooks app) is giving away a number of free books. The most notable of which (in my opinion of course) being Brandon Sanderson’s The Way of Kings. An epic of epics. If you haven’t read this book, you haven’t experienced the true grasping power of fantasy literature. You can read my 10/10 review here. But really folks. It’s free! Go get it! Unfortunately, as Brandon Sanderson himself sadly notes, this offer is only available in the US, but other great fantasy books are available in your respective countries. For those in the US, click this link to get a free copy of this 1000 page tome.
[UPDATE] For those who don’t use an iTunes account or have Mac tech, a free Kindle version of The Way of Kings has been listed on Amazon! This is awesome news, and I hope as many people get on board with this series as possible. It’s one of those things that’s too good not to share. So tell your friends. Grab your free Kindle copy of The Way of Kings now!
In other news, Brandon Sanderson is finally in the beginning stages of writing for The Stormlight Archives #3!

I’m ecstatic about this… not because I need a free copy. I bought mine a few years ago, so this does nothing for me personally.
But I’ve found Sanderson’s style to be highly accessible, full of great action, and abundant with plot twists.
In other words, I want more of my friends to get the same enjoyment out of this book that I have… and you can’t beat this price!

Awesome news! I happily purchased it a few years ago, but if it creates a few more Sandersonites with whom I can freak out, I am pleased!

Tell your friends. This is excellent coverage for the novel and I do so hope it’ll lead to some sort of picture/television deal down the line once more books are released. It, more than most, is bleeding to be picked up. It’s made to be adapted.
