Wow. Tell me this isn’t beautiful. A few notes:
- Notice the Starkiller Base in the background. It’s said to be able to destroy entire star systems.
- NO LUKE, STILL!
- It’s almost a Venn diagram of Dark vs. Light.
- Carrie Fisher’s hair looks appropriately done up. This is the first time she’s been featured on a poster.
- Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, and her staff is shown juxtaposed to Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. This means something. Are they siblings? Is her staff also a lightsaber? Do they face off?
- There’s a new, small character besides R2-D2. We’ve seen him in promo images before. His name is Maz Kanataand.
- Long live Drew Struzan, the poster’s artist.
If you notice anything else, let me know in the comments below. You’ll be happy to note that a new trailer (perhaps the final trailer) will air during ESPN’s Monday Night Football, tomorrow night, alongside the release of pre-order tickets.

Good to see Chewie’s still about, and the Falcon is still flying. Here’s hoping that new character you mentioned doesn’t turn out to be a small version of the uber-irritating CGI chap whose name I have mercifully forgotten.
Surely no one would repeat a mistake like that, eh?
